In this Frozen Throne walkthrough, we cover all the necessary information for you to complete the Frozen Thone on hard difficulty. Note that the walkthrough is tailored towards hard difficulty, not normal, and hence enemy described within are from hard difficulty.

Our philosophy is that should we develop tactics that allow you to complete on mission on 'hard', the same tactics will be more than enough for easier difficulty levels. However, in almost all instances, players do not need to be nearly as cautious on normal, and can get away with much less defensive structures and a much more offensive stance.

We note that the key differences between hard and normal difficulties are:

  • Computers often don't rebuild lost structures on normal.
  • Enemy heroes are of lower levels on normal.
  • Computers never run out of gold on Hard.
  • Special Characters and sometimes units have more hit points on hard.
  • The Enemy with attack with around 4x as much units on hard as on normal.
  • Enemy bases start with much better defences on Hard.
  • Enemy trains units faster on Hard.
  • Enemy Units are at much higher upgrade and tech levels on Hard, and have a greater arsenal of spells.
  • For Example, on the second Night Elf Mission, normal difficult computers attack with 1-2 Courtls, where's on hard the attack with 7-9, and attacks come twice as frequently.
In fact normal so easy that I advise anyone who has played the original Warcraft 3 Campaign to use Hard. The Normal Difficulty level will be of no challenge, and you're game won't last nearly as long.
