2. Lineage: 12.0%
3. Lineage 2: 10.4%
4. Runescape: 6.4%

Blizzard has just revealed a number of new spells and talents that will be featured in the upcoming expansion pack to World of Warcraft. So far, this new Warlock spell appears most disturbing:

WoW in Oceania - Deathwing @ 6:39:46 EDT
APC has written up an interesting article in regards to the status of World of Warcraft for Australians and New Zealanders. From results, it's hardly positive:

Khaz’goroth was dying before the transfers began. Since then, the population of the World of Warcraft server has spiralled out of control, to the point where prime time is marred by queues of 800 odd people just trying to log in.

For those playing on the server this was just another step on the good intentioned paved road to hell, a path that started the day World of Warcraft was launched.

If you're from either of these two locations, you'll find this interesting.

IGN Previews Burning Crusade - Deathwing @ 2:27:16 EDT
The people at IGN have also filed a preview of Burning Crusade, showing off some of its cooer elements. Be sure to check it out. Seems like the ranked Honor system will now worked like a Chess ladder system, much like the one inplemented for Starcraft. This is good news, since time no longer equates to rank.

Casuals Rejoice in Burning Crusade - Deathwing @ 0:14:44 EDT
Casual players in World of Warcraft can make a collective sigh of relief over the announced changes that the expansion will make. In particular:
  • End Game Rades will be capped at 25 man, rather than 40.
  • Many End Game instances are 10 man.
  • Eng Game instances will come in multiple difficulty levels, with increasingly better loot. So you can visit an instance at Level 60, Level 70 Green, and then Level 70 Purple.
  • PvP Rewards will now be purchased by PvP Points, rather than a competitive grind.
  • Arena's will be introduced to allow teams of players to fight each other.

Sounds great. Read more in the preview.

Rumors of Starcraft 2? - Deathwing @ 2:37:51 EDT
In the last two days, escalating developments has suggested the possibility that Starcraft 2 may finally see the light of day... at the light of becoming reality! Direct from Gamespot:

This week, though, the myriad Blizzard RTS fans got some good news, courtesy of a job posting on the official Blizzard Web site. The company is now currently accepting resumes for the position of "Level Designer" with "experience building levels using any popular 3D Real-Time Strategy game toolset." (Emphasis added.) Candidates must have "experience creating levels in [a] 3D RTS game toolset" such as those used in Rise of Legends, Command & Conquer, and--drum roll--Warcraft III.

While the job posting appears to be proof positive that Blizzard is working on a new RTS game--which some speculate is Starcraft II--reps for the Vivendi-owned studio weren't tipping their hand. "We have some unannounced projects in development," a rep told GameSpot, "and we'll be revealing more information about those at a later date."

In addition, Blizzard has made a release statement that it has pulled people from the console development team:

Following "an extensive evaluation of the company's aggressive development plans," the traditionally PC-centric developer now "plans to strengthen its current development efforts by refocusing key members of its console team on other projects."

The only currently announced console title in development... and on permanent hold at that, is Starcraft: Ghost. We also know that Blizzard is currently developming one unannounced project. Could it be Starcraft 2? Please let it be so!

Kudos to Firefly for the news.

Blizzard Games Vista Compatible - Deathwing @ 2:38:09 EDT
Gamespot has run a series of tests to see which games are compatible on Windows Vista. The good news is that Blizzard Games didn't fair too badly. Diablo 2, Warcraft III and World of Warcraft all run well...

Good news, considering other notable releases like Civilisation 4 and Half-Life 2 did not.
