The History of Kel'Thuzad - Deathwing @ 22:47:15 EDT
In preparation for the release of the next 40 man raid instance, Blizzard has written up a short story on how Kel'Thuzad became apprentice to the Lich King. Its a good read:

Once, Kel'Thuzad was not very different from the other magi of Dalaran. Ambitious, maybe, perhaps more radical in his convictions, but certainly not more powerful than his peers. Yet it was Kel'Thuzad the Lich King made into a key figure of the Scourge's remorseless assault on the lands of the living. Now, the man named Kel'Thuzad is gone, and all that remains is Kel'Thuzad the lich, right hand of the Lich King and ruler of the necropolis Naxxramas.

Its a good read.

Funeral Raid Makes it to Sploid News - Deathwing @ 8:19:59 EDT
Sploid news has actually written up a news article detailing a recent funeral raid.

For reasons yet to be explained, a group of players decided to hold a "funeral service" for another player who reportedly died in real life on February 28 ... and they decided to hold it in an open-combat area.

They announced it on a World of Warcraft message board.

A gang of rival players known as "Serenity Now" thought that was a fine way to slaughter a whole lot of enemies with minimal effort.

It's more than little cynical, but a rather interesting read.

Leaked V1.11 Patch Info - Deathwing @ 5:31:46 EDT
A Chinese World of Warcraft Website has claimed to have obtained leaked patch notes for the upcoming V1.11 patch. While automated translation is never good, you can sort of make out what it says here.

If the changes made are true, they will be very controversial indeed. Of primary note is that the mage's frost spells will suffer deminishing returns... which would completely render a frost mage build useless in PvP situations.

Of course, it could all be hoax, but patch notes have been leaked to the same site in the past, so its a tough call.

Burning Crusade Bestiary - stobbsm @ 16:01:48 EDT
Blizzard has released information about it's Bestiary.
It's interesting to say the least, especially the enigmatic Ethereals, who seem to be an NPC race that may offer up some really nice items for your favorite character.
I'd watch out for the Gronn though, as they are supposedly Immortal (Raid encounters anybody?)
All in all, I'm Impressed with the work Blizzard is putting into the first Expansion of their by far most wildly celebrated game!

Naxxramas - stobbsm @ 21:52:05 EDT
Naxxramas is the forbiding lair of Kel'Thuzad. For those of you who don't know, he is the Lich King's original lacky, who started spreading the plague in Azeroth. Arthas, the now Lich King killed him before setting sail to Northrend to stop the Undead plague.
We all know how that turned out.
Blizzard is going to add this Dungeon in the next content patch (1.11), which should add alot of new content getting ready for The Burning Crusade.
I'm glad they are going to bring the lingering threat of the Scourge back in to it. They were the main enemy for most of Warcraft 3 and have been greatly under-utilized, in my opinion.

Gamespot Previews Burning Legion - Deathwing @ 3:52:51 EDT
Gamespot has written up a nice preview of the Burning Legion. While it doesn't feature any concrete facts that we don't already know, it has a number of nice screenshots and interesting quotes:

With the Alliance race, our goal wasn't to make an "ugly" race. Our goal was to make a "cool" race. We thought of races that fit into the Warcraft lore and complemented the Alliance. We also thought of races that fit this particular expansion, The Burning Crusade, and the Outland and started from there. But from the beginning, we wanted to pick something cool. At the end of the day, we needed to approach it as a player and ask ourselves, "Would I want to play that race?" Personally, I am very excited about our choice

Something to do with the Outland? Seems like Draenei is a distinct possibility.
