Caption Contest - stobbsm @ 16:19:59 EST
Blizzard and the Royal Photographic Society of Azeroth has started a competition asking us users to add a caption to the winning screenshots from some of their earlier RPSA contests.
I know of a few I could try with some of those screenshots. Guess I'll see you all in the contest!
Did I mention, you can win a Sony PSP system, with a Sandisk Memory stick Pro Duo along with it.
Can't wait to see all of your entries!

Next class to get some love? - stobbsm @ 18:56:49 EST
Sorry it's been so long, my system crashed and I stopped being able to post news.
Now, on with the post!
With the Priests getting hit with the Buff Cannon with the 1.10 patch, what class is coming next?
Is it Warriors? Rogues? Nope, neither of them.
The next patch (after 1.10) will be the Mages turn to shine! I'm hoping myself that the Fire tree gets a major buff, seeing as how it's best to use Ice and Arcane for PvP or even PvE at the moment.
So YAY for mages, it's about time they got some lovin'.

Blizzard has released a new Chat Guide for World of Warcraft. If you have ever wondered about ALL of the chat commands available to you, you need this guide. Taking a brief look at it, you can control everything from party invites, to setting the guild MOTD, and even promoting Guild members (or demoting).
Defiantly worth a look

Blizzard halting character creation - stobbsm @ 16:18:04 EST
No No No. Don't worry. You can still create new characters, unless you don't have any on a realm that has a queue.
Blizzard has implemented a system that will disable character creation on a full realm, if the realm has a queue. This means, if you just bought the game, and want to play with your buddies on a realm that is full, you can't.
I'm sure this will affect many new players, but I can understand Blizzard's reasoning behind it. Less characters means less wait means happier customers, means less account deactivations. This is a welcome change for more casual players, that have high level characters on full realms, and don't want to wait in line.

Warcraft 2 Inducted to Fame - Deathwing @ 7:30:32 EST

Warcraft 3 has been inducted by Gamespot into their Best Games of all time, here's what they had to say:

Blizzard's Warcraft II vaulted the genre to the forefront of PC gaming, alongside first-person shooters. Warcraft II had it all--from a cinematic and compelling single-player campaign with memorable characters to a flexible and addictive multiplayer component that really set the game apart from the competition. Lots of fans actually played Warcraft II online back then, thanks to a third-party network-hack application called Kali, which allowed for online play of Warcraft II at a time when Internet connectivity wasn't nearly as widespread as it is today. Most of all, though, the game oozed personality due to its rousing orchestral soundtrack, voice acting, and sound effects, which remain memorable and recognizable to fans of the game.

Blizzard Apologises to Gay Guild - Deathwing @ 23:34:50 EST
If you've been caught up in all the controverrsy of the World of Warcraft community, you'll realise that in addition to the standard raider vs non-raider fight.... another one started a few days ago when Blizzard told a WOW Player that she was in breach of service agreements when creating a guild for gay, lesbian and bisixual players.

And so the flame war begun, but today, it was settled as Blizzard rehhought their positions:

"The action that was taken by our customer service representative was an unfortunate interpretation of our current policies, which are currently under review... I have had the warning removed from your account. Please accept our apologies for the way our staff characterised your conduct, and rest assured that your account will not be penalised in any way."

And we're all happy that flame wars have once again return to the topic of 'More Non-raid Content!" and "Nerf Shamans!"

New Relics for 1.10 - stobbsm @ 19:33:47 EST
While browsing the WoW general forums, I stumbled on a nice post by Eyonix commenting on what new relics will be live in patch 1.10.
Needless to say, they look pretty good to me, with Paladins getting some much needed love with a -20 mana cost for all seals.
Check out the original post, and feel free to comment here.

According to Blizzards main page, they are looking for alot of new art staff, for an "Unannouced" project. The Specifics say the team behind Diablo 1 and 2 need these positions filled for this project, which of course leads to the speculation, "Is this for Diablo 3?"
Kudos to Firefly from the forums for the news.
